- Provide oxygen via NC or non-rebreather if appropriate. Place a surgical mask overtop the patients face (over the non-rebreather and nasal cannula). If the patient requires CPAP, intubation, or suctioning, please first make sure you are wearing N95 mask, goggles, gown, and gloves.
- Please wear full PPE protection in cardiac arrest patients.
- Avoid suctioning for children if possible.
- In patients with bronchospasm, please use the patient’s home MDI with spacer if available. If not available, you can do a nebulizer treatment (but please be in full PPE if there is any viral URI symptoms: N95, goggles, gown, gloves).
- Be on the look-out for Abuse/maltreatment. Unfortunately, abuse is more common in times of high stress.
